MAY 13, 2011 La Mirada, Calif. – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, has added to its groundbreaking line of cordless power tools with an addition to the 12V max Lithium-Ion Cordless platform. The new 12V max Lithium-Ion Cordless 3/8" Impact Wrench (model WT01W) is engineered with 1,000 in.lbs. of Max Torque in an ultra compact size that weighs only 2.1 lbs. The new impact wrench is also available with the 12V max 3/8" driver-drill in a 3-piece combo kit (LCT309W).
"The new 12V max impact wrench is the latest in Makita’s long line of best-in-class impact products," said Ethan Haughawout, Makita Product Manager, Cordless Tools. "Three-eighths-inch square drives rule in automotive, so the new WT01W presents an ideal solution for automotive technicians who demand fastening power in an ultra-compact design, without the cord."
The new WT01W is powered by a Makita-built motor with variable speed (0-2,300 RPM and 0-3,000 IPM) for a range of fastening applications. The WT01W is engineered with Makita’s proprietary hammer and anvil, which is made using the highest quality steel and heat hardened to last longer for the most demanding applications. The ultra compact design is only 6-3/8" long and weighs only 2.1 lbs. for reduced operator fatigue. Additional ease-of-use features include a built-in L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area. The ergonomic shape fits like a glove with even pressure and easy control, and the soft grip handle provides increased comfort on the job for all-day use.
The new WT01W is the latest addition to Makita’s 12V max Lithium-Ion cordless line-up
. Makita has engineered the new 12V max Lithium-Ion to be fully compatible with previously released Makita 10.8V Lithium-Ion cordless solutions already available, including driver-drills as well as an impact driver, circular saw, L.E.D.
