DUNGEY STAYS HOT, TAKES SECOND IN PHOENIX

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey took second place at Saturday’s Monster Energy® AMA Supercross Series event at Chase Field in Phoenix. Dungey won his six-lap qualifier, and then took second in the final after a 15-lap battle with Jake Weimer of Team Honda.

Dungey (middle-right) finished strong last season, and clearly has picked up where he left off with a first and second place finish in just two events.

In the Supercross class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Mike Alessi (below right) took the holeshot in the main, but hit a Tuffblock and had to rally for a sixth place finish.  He is currently holding sixth place in the Season Standings.

Monster Energy® Kawasaki’s James Stewart took first. See below for complete results.

Next Saturday racing returns to Anaheim Stadium, and the event is scheduled to broadcast on SPEED on Sunday, January 20 at 3 p.m. (6 p.m. eastern). Check www.supercrossonline.com for the 2008 Supercross race and television schedule.
